I really really hate the commercialisation (is that a word?) of Christmas and Easter. I am not a Christian but I do believe that the history of those particular holidays demands a respect no longer given to them. I noted that this year one of the favoured gifts for Christmas was liposuction and facelifts. What the.... ????? Whatever happened to giving a book or somesuch? Now, it seems, we are expected to spend thousands of dollars on Christmas gifts (to prove something? the keep up? what???) The credit card debt keeps rising, and the beneficiaries are not the gift recipients. Sad.
