Now I'm back to using Ubuntu :-) So, I've found a handy guide on entering these same characters in Linux: http://www.jw-stumpel.nl/stestu.html#T6.1 Works a treat, though make sure you hold AltGr and the minus key at the same time, they're not individual key presses in sequence. Also, you probably wouldn't want to use the alternate keyboard all the time because you have to press AltGr+Apostrophe to enter ' and to type English using correct grammar, which is a pain.
